Joann M. Voss, DVM, DABVP (Canine, Feline)

Dr. Voss graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980.  Prior to that, she attended Oregon State University and graduated with honors in Animal Science.  She began veterinary practice in Eugene, Oregon, and founded Westmoreland Animal Hospital in 1987.  Dr. Voss served for many years as an officer of the Lane County Veterinary Medical Association and on the board of directors of the Eugene-Springfield Emergency Veterinary Hospital.

In 2008, Dr. Voss completed the rigorous studies and examinations required to earn Diplomate status in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.  ABVP is a specialty board dedicated to advancing the quality of veterinary medicine through the recognition and certification of veterinarians who demonstrate excellence in species-oriented clinical practice.

After her four children were grown, Dr. Voss and her husband, Merle, moved to Bend and joined the staff of Ark Animal Clinic.  They completed construction of the larger, updated, new clinic building in January 2012.

Dr. Voss is one of eight elected regional directors of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, and she serves on the board of the Central Oregon Veterinary Medical Board of Directors.

In her spare time, Dr. Voss enjoys gardening, hiking, bird hunting, and fishing.  She and her husband have eight grandchildren, two retired horses, an English Setter, Sophie, and two German Shorthair Pointers, Jake and Taylor.
